Creating a Successful Rack Card or Brochure in our displays
Proper Size!
Our displays are designed to showcase a standard size 4 inch x 9 inch rack card or brochure. Anything larger is considered oversized, and anything smaller may not get the attention it deserves. Anything smaller than a true 4”x9” rack card or brochure may be partially blocked by the rest of the brochures in that display. Anything larger either will not fit well in the 4 inch wide divided spots, and if it is taller than 9 inches then it is more likely to curl forward over time.
4”x9” Rack Card- A single panel two sided piece
4”x9” Brochure- A multi-panel or multi-folded piece
Sturdy Stock!
Thickness of the rack card or brochure so that it will stand up straight without curling forward.
For rack cards, 80 lb. stock will hold its shape well.
For brochures, 70 lb. stock will hold its shape well, and will be easier to fold.
No curling or bending over time!
The “Eyecatcher”!
A bold statement, or a strong visual!
The top 2.5 inches of the front of the brochure should be used to get the attention of your audience at a quick glance. Who are you? What do you offer? The first objective is to get that brochure into your customers hand.

Content!
Pictures, brand recognition, key information, identity.
Keep it general if it is a single panel 2 sided rack card.
Elaborate with a brochure- more space for more information if you want to include a map, or directory, you may need to have a multi-panel or multi-folded brochure.
PHONE NUMBER, WEBSITE ADDRESS, PICTURES, EVERYTHING THE READER NEEDS TO KNOW!
QR Code!
Current information–Use a QR code instead of printing it, to direct smart phone users to your website! For current hours of operation, event dates, and pricing.
This will allow you to reuse your brochure so that it won’t be so quickly outdated. Saving money on reprinting and even redesigning.
QR CODE! BROCHURE TO WEBSITE CONNECTION!
Please Note!
These are just some general important tips specific to our displays. Your experienced designer and printer can take these simple tips, and expand on them with you. They can help you with things like the finish and whether your brochure and its design requires a gloss, or matte finish. Also, the grain of how the rack card or brochure is produced will help it keep its vertically intended shape.
